Meet Dejerica Tinsley
Dejerica has experience addressing a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, stress management, trauma, life transitions, difficult relationships, children with special needs, burden of caregiver support, chronic health issues, grief and loss, ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder and parent child relationship issues. Dejerica understands that specialized training is important and your ability to feel comfortable and connected to your therapist is important. Dejerica is passionate about being a listener first, maintaining open dialogue and helping you explore your own personal goals. Dejerica offers a warm nonjudgmental approach that encompasses empathy and compassion.
Dejerica takes a person-centered approach while also utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, play therapy and other evidence-based techniques. Her practice specializes in treating individuals, children and adolescents, couples and families.
Dejerica is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Georgia and North Carolina and has worked in the mental health field for the past 5 years. Dejerica holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree in Social Work from University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNC-G), and a Master of Social Work Degree from University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC). Dejerica is certified in Triple P Positive Parenting as a provider where she provides parents of children up to 12 years, with techniques to address behavioral and emotional problems in children and teenagers. Triple P aims to prevent problems in the family, school and community before they arise. Dejerica also has 4 years of medical social work experience as it relates to children and adults with chronic medical conditions.
